URGENT – WE WILL VERY SHORTLY BE LOSING OUR BUS ROUTES

The Parish Council wants to identify all West Harptree residents who currently depend on or may need local bus services, to make sure that they understand what is happening and get all the help that they need

Members of the council are available to help anyone who might need support booking buses with the new scheme.

Please contact us if you are a bus user or know of someone who depends on local buses but isn’t likely to read this.

PASS IT ON IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO USES A BUS – ESPECIALLY ANYONE WHO DOESN’T USE THE INTERNET!

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF WE CAN HELP YOU, OR YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO MIGHT NEED HELP:

    Your Name (required)

    Your Email (required)

    Your Phone (optional)

Details of any Bus services used by you or someone you know and anyone you know who needs help:
    (Required)

    THE COMING CHANGES

The following local bus services will shortly cease to operate:

    At the end of March

    • 640: Bishop Sutton to Keynsham,
    • 752: Hinton Blewett to Bath,
    • 754: Hinton Blewett to Radstock.

    At the end of May

    • 672: Bristol to Blagdon

B&NES is pressing WECA to see if two new services could be set up (526: A “round the valley” circular route that connects to 527: A  service into Anchor Road Bristol) but we can’t hold out much hope.

A new Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service will be starting in the Chew Valley on 3rd April. Think of this as a cross between Uber and Liftshare – minibuses that will take people around to order. You would order a lift by phone, app or website… however there are virtually no details about how it might work yet.

DEMAND RESPONSIVE TRANSPORT IS A HUGE CHANGE FOR USERS, WILL BE “USE IT OR LOSE IT”  AND VERY LIKELY TO DISAPPEAR IF UNDERUSED LEAVING US WITH NOTHING.
