2407_[2] Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Colton and Weatherill
2407_[3] Declaration of Interest
There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary or personal interests.
2407_[4] Confirmation of Minutes
RESOLVED: The Parish Council meeting minutes of Monday 10th June 2024 were confirmed as an accurate record and signed by Chairman.
Further details regarding item 2406_[7] received from Cllr Weatherill were added as an appendix to the minutes.
REPORTS – To receive and note any reports:
2407_[5] Chairman’s Report
- The Chairman thank Cllr Gay and his family for the planting on the triangle. It was suggested that research be taken to optimise seasonal plants.
- The Chairman expressed the thanks of the Parish Council to BANES officers and Cllr D Wood for the work to implement the highways safety scheme. It was noted that members of the council had received positive feedback regarding the scheme from a majority of residents.
2407_[6] Clerk’s Report
- Noted: Temporary closure of The Crown and Assert of Community submission for the shop
- Noted: Correspondence received regarding Parsonage Close
- Noted: correspondence shared with council members listed in the appendix.
2407_[7] Meetings attended Reports
- The Chairman reported on an invitation from BANES to discuss the missing link of the Chew Valley cycle trail
2407_[8] Memorial Hall Reports
- A report was received regarding the hall, including a planned spring clean over the summer.
2407_[9] Highways Reports
- Noted: Double yellow lines on the triangle would require the completion of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).
- Cllr Hooper offered to draft a request to include changes to the double yellow lines on Ridge Crescent in the next TRO.
2407_[10] Recreation Ground Reports
- Cllr Mitchel shared photos of climbing equipment at Compton Dando
- Noted: A request was received from Cllr Colton regarding a bench for the playing field
- Cllr McCombe agreed to draft a residents survey on equipment options for the playground
- The Chairman requested that members of the council prepare playground ideas for consideration at the next meeting in September
2407_[11] Ward Councillor’s Report
- A report received by email was reviewed from BANES District Cllr David Wood
- The council reviewed and approved changing meeting dates to the 3rd Monday of the month to enable Dst Cllr Wood to attend. The council requested the Clerk write to Dst Cllr Wood regarding attendance of Parish Council meetings.
2407_[12] FINANCE
(a) Payments and income – see appendix 2024-07 Finance Reports
- RESOLVED: payments to approve listed in finance report
- Noted: payments and Income listed in finance report
- To RESOLVE: bank reconciliation
- Noted: Year to date spend vs budget. The Clerk was instructed to combine the two CIL budget categories into one earmarked fund for CIL following completion of the highways project.
2407_[13] PLANNING APPLICATIONS
There were no outstanding consultation requests at the time of agenda publication
Noted: A consultation response re Application Reference: 24/01767/FUL was sent on 12th June with a repeat follow up on 1st July. At the time of agenda publication the consultation response had not been published on the planning portal. The Clerk reported that this had now been published on the BANES planning portal.
