This is a friendly reminder about the ongoing consultation for the draft SIP. We highly encourage you to share your insights and feedback to ensure your voice is heard during this process.
As part of the consultation, we are hosting a series of webinars, hosted by Councillor Hannah Young and the project team, to provide an opportunity for you to engage directly with us, ask questions, and share your thoughts.
Due to overwhelming interest, the webinar session scheduled for Thursday, 16th January is nearly fully booked. To accommodate more participants, we are pleased to announce an additional session on:

Subject: Have Your Say Western Gateway – Draft Strategic Investment Plan Consultation Launch
Dear Sir/Madam,
Western Gateway Sub-national Transport Body is delighted to announce the launch of the consultation for its Draft Strategic Investment Plan (SIP), now available on our website for public consultation. The consultation period begins today, 20 December 2024, and will remain open until 2 February 2025. We warmly invite individuals and organisations to participate and share their feedback.
Purpose of the SIP
The purpose of the SIP is to achieve the aims and objectives of our adopted Strategic Transport Plan (STP) and to provide a list of prioritised investment proposals for the region.
Public Engagement Exercise Documents
Attached is a briefing providing additional details about the SIP. You can find the full Draft SIP, the Sustainability Appraisal reports, the short promotional video and other supporting documents on our website.
How to have your say
- The direct link to the consultation survey is available online on our Have Your Say consultation and engagement platform.
- By post – you will need to request a paper copy of the feedback survey from us by emailing westerngatewaystb@westofengland-ca.gov.uk with your name and postal address. We will then post you the survey free of charge along with a pre-paid envelope.
For any other project related queries, during the public engagement exercise or after, please contact us and one of our dedicated officers will get back to you.
We would greatly appreciate any assistance with onward promotion to ensure our responses cover as much of our region as possible. We have developed a communications toolkit that may assist you in sharing information across your channels, this is available on our website.
