Thank you for your consultation request regarding:
Application Reference: 24/04077/FUL
10 Dilly Meadows, West Harptree, BS40 6DR
Provision of an air-conditioning unit.
Comments:
This application has caused concern among local residents, particularly because of the potential noise nuisance and the council shares this concern, especially because of the potential that consent may set an inappropriate local precedent. We therefore make the following comments;
The proposed location of the air conditioning unit is sub optimal since it is backed by a solid wall and faces directly towards neighbours. We suggest that the unit should be repositioned to sit in the north west corner of the orangery extension, facing east north east, thus minimising the noise impact on Nos 11, 12, 14 & 9.
Notwithstanding the suggested relocation, the applicant should also be required to employ a suitably qualified acoustic consultant to provide accurate estimates of the noise at the boundary of adjacent properties.
Kind regards,
West Harptree Parish Council
