West Harptree Memorial Hall – AGM 15th January 2025 – report 2025 from Cllr Weatherill

The Memorial hall made a profit of £3002.79 for the first time in 3 years.

The majority of funds were raised via village events which included 3 Quiz nights, several Bingo nights and the Harptree Hop, as well as regular community bookings for the history society, Lunch club, Yoga, Pilates, Circuit training and Brazilian adult Jui jitsu, who all meet at least once a week, New to the hall is Ballet and Story Imaginory which caters for younger villagers. Other groups that use the hall include The Eco group. Church soup lunch, Election voting, Parish council meetings, the rug man and heart circle.   Other groups also use the hall from time.

The hall has had less private bookings for birthdays, anniversaries etc than in previous years, though the committee was positive about this as the events can be time consuming and complex for the volunteers to organise.

The committee is keen to recruit new members and/or volunteers to help from time to time at events.   They are extremely pleased with the standard of cleaning in the hall.

The next events planned are a Quiz night and the annual charity Harptree Hop.  This year the charity is Cyrenaeus.  (The charity provides plastic surgery training / procedures in Africa)

Thank you to all of the Memorial Hall committee for their dedication and time this year and congratulations on making a profit.   Your contribution is valued and very much appreciated.
